Hi, Chris Titley here. Recently, I hosted Christy Forrest, CEO of LiveHire, on the Sub11 podcast.

LiveHire was founded in 2011 by Gigi Gozi and Mike Haywood to provide an alternative to traditional hiring methods. The company's core mission is to humanise the recruitment process, creating a talent community where individuals can express interest in a company and be matched to roles based on their skills and capabilities. This approach not only speeds up the hiring process but also enhances the quality of candidates and diversity rates.

One of the features of LiveHire's platform is its two-way texting capability, which ensures candidates feel like they are communicating with a real person, rather than submitting applications into a black hole. This innovation has led to an 17-minute response time for candidates and has helped companies reduce their time-to-hire by almost 50%.

LiveHire's platform serves over 200 clients in Australia and has recently expanded to North America, where it has seen 35% growth in the past six months. The company's technology is particularly well-suited to the North American market, where nearly 50% of the labor force consists of contractors. LiveHire's ability to integrate direct sourcing into the hiring process has been recognised by Manpower Tapfin, one of the world's largest talent services firms, after a rigorous nine-month evaluation process.

In addition to its technology, LiveHire has formed strategic partnerships with industry giants like SAP. These partnerships enable LiveHire to provide comprehensive talent solutions, integrating both permanent and contingent hiring processes.

Christy also shared insights on how LiveHire is leveraging AI to enhance its platform. By using ethical AI, such as Anthropic Cloud, LiveHire ensures that its technology remains transparent and unbiased. AI is used to streamline workflows, create job descriptions, and match candidates based on their skills, ultimately saving recruiters time and improving the candidate experience.

The COVID-19 pandemic posed significant challenges for many businesses, but LiveHire emerged stronger, demonstrating resilience and adaptability. The company focused on reducing its cost base and prioritising profitable clients, leading to a cashflow-positive quarter and continued growth despite the economic downturn.
