Upcover, an Insurtech startup, has launched a comprehensive insurance product called Professional Indemnity & Public Liability Insurance For Nurses for the 350,000 nurses in Australia.
The product is tailored to cover registered, enrolled, and in-patient nurses, nurse practitioners, doulas, and nursing students for events such as physical injury, negligence, defamation, and breaches of privacy health legislation.
Additionally, it covers a broad range of activities, including cosmetic injectables, bowel cleansing, and respite care services.
The insurance also meets the requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and offers limits up to $20m. This is the first time upcover has directly offered a product to employees, making it easier for nurses to access the coverage they require.
